About the Harmonized System (HS)

The Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (HS) is an internationally standardized system of names and numbers to classify traded products. It is developed and maintained by the World Customs Organization (WCO) and is used by more than 200 countries as the basis for customs tariffs and collection of international trade statistics.

All products listed on ExportConnect must include a valid HS code in their catalog entry. This ensures compatibility with customs systems, enables accurate trade statistics reporting, and facilitates automated matching with buyer requirements.
